Are you concerned about becoming part of the growing number of obese people in South Africa? Or, are you bewildered by all the talk of “low carb” eating? Maybe you’ve been thinking of looking into the concept but don’t know where to start. If so, then this book is for you and will help you gain a deeper understanding for you and your family to eat more healthily.

It is said that “the proof is in the pudding” and the contents is based on the experience of the author, a highly-acclaimed dietitian of the Real Meal Revolution, who has used this eating programme for herself and her patients over a period of 22 years.

The book starts off with an explanation of how to make low-carb eating a way of life and is packed with recipes that cover all the meals one can have in a day and also snacks, finger foods and food for kids. No more worries over what to put in their lunchboxes, Mom.

The emphasis is on fresh food, not store-bought and while this might be a challenge for most people in today’s busy life, it is not impossible. It would be best to read the book properly before you start following the recipes, for a thorough understanding of what you need to do. It may not be a lifestyle of choice for everyone, but there is certainly something in it for even those who want to try something different, and healthy, every now and then.
