Katlego Danke is known for her classy characters in the acting industry. This actress has starred in soap operas such as the student drama Backstage and Generations.

Most of her fans only know her for snapping into her alter ego on soapies and the stage, but like everyone else, she has a life away from the cameras.

Drum recently caught up with her and here are some interesting facts you may not know about Katlego:

Katlego on her:

Strength

“My strength is in every day and the women that came before me. I draw strength from my mother, my grandmother, my friends and my sisters, who I watch going through trials and hectic life situations.”

Acting experience

“I have always been on stage. At five or six years, I was already doing radio dramas. It has always just been a part of my life, and I guess it was unconscious.”

Failing her BCom

“I had to ask myself what I want to do with my life, so after I failed the Bcom I opted for aBA degree in theatre and performing from the University of Cape Town.”

Her favourite TV show

“This show has my heart; I love Rockville for the purest reason that it’s real. It show scenes that we grew up hearing about but have never seen.”

Katlego has worked on two films so far, with one being released last December titled All About Love. The second film, Farewell Ella Bella will be released sometime this year. But in the meantime, fans can catch up with her on the SABC 3 soapie, Isidingo.
